Tulum's Winter Flights Are Dated: Ten Airlines, Thirteen Cities, from 25 October

Tulum's winter flight schedule now has dates on it. From Sunday 25 October, the state says, ten airlines will serve Felipe Carrillo Puerto International from thirteen cities, nine of them outside Mexico, and the season runs to 27 March 2027. That is the sentence anyone planning a winter here has been waiting for since the routes started coming back in August, and it changes the question from whether Tulum can be reached to which day of the week to fly.
The outline came first. On 3 September Bernardo Cueto Riestra, Quintana Roo's secretary of tourism, gave the trade publication Reportur the shape of the winter: ten carriers, thirteen destinations, 25 October to 27 March. The international list he named was Calgary, Montreal, Québec, Toronto, Newark, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Houston; the domestic list was Mexico City's two airports, the AICM and the AIFA, plus Monterrey and Guadalajara. Ten days later the federal tourism ministry filled in the days and the dates for the routes that matter most to this readership, the five connections to Canada and the United States, and those are worth setting out in full.
The Canadian routes, day by day
Montreal gets two carriers. Air Transat flies on Sundays from 25 October to 18 April, and Air Canada on Thursdays from 29 October to 8 April. Toronto also gets two: Air Canada on Sundays from 25 October to 11 April, and WestJet on Thursdays and Saturdays from 31 October to 24 April. Calgary is WestJet's, Thursdays and Saturdays from 29 October to 24 April. Québec City is Air Transat's, on Sundays from 25 October.
Read as a whole, that is Canada landing in Tulum on three days of the week, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, from the last weekend of October until after Easter. For a Canadian owner who winters here, or a Canadian buyer who has been waiting to see whether the direct flight would survive, the answer for this season is that it does, from four cities, on fixed days, across the whole of the high season.

The American route, and the ones still to appear
The United States is a shorter story. United Airlines flies from Newark on Thursdays and Sundays from 17 December to 24 January, a five week window over Christmas and New Year. As of the schedule published on 13 September, that is the only United States service on the winter table. The four other American cities the state named on 3 September, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta and Houston, were not on the federal list ten days later, and Reportur reported on 14 September that no further flights from the United States had been filed for the coming months.
This is the part to be honest about. In August the story was recovery: eight international routes coming back for the winter after the network had fallen from twelve to four in the first half of 2026. The September schedule confirms the Canadian half of that recovery in full and dates it. The American half is, for now, one carrier for five weeks, and the sentence to watch for over the autumn is the one that adds Dallas or Miami to the table with a date beside it. Until it appears, the practical route from most of the United States is the one it has been all year: fly into Cancún, which carries the bulk of American traffic to the coast, and drive under two hours south.
The federal tourism secretary, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, put the government's case in the language governments use: each new route, she said, brings more visitors to Tulum's natural, cultural and archaeological wealth. Ten weekly international frequencies across seven connections is what that amounts to on the ground this winter.
What the dates are for
The schedule opens into a coast that needs it. The Tulum hotel association's president, David Ortiz Mena, told the press on 12 September that beachfront hotels were running near 20 percent occupancy in early September and that several had closed for the low season to wait for October. A dated schedule is the thing a hotel reopens against, a restaurant restaffs against, and a visitor books against, and this is the first winter since the airport opened in which the international timetable has been public seven weeks before the first landing.
For the reader who owns here, or is about to, the season now has a calendar. The first winter arrivals are Sunday 25 October. The Canadian services run to the middle and end of April. Newark runs across the holidays. Zamna opens its tenth season on 31 December and Day Zero is on 9 January, and the flights that carry people to both are the ones above. The winter that makes Tulum Tulum now has a timetable, and it starts in five weeks.
