Tulum Wins Award as Best Beach Destination in Mexico and Central America

The tourism-specialized portal, World Travel Awards (WTA), has announced the winners of its 2024 awards for Mexico, the Caribbean, and the Americas. Among the top winners is Tulum, which was voted the best beach destination in Mexico and Central America.

Following the impact of Hurricane Beryl, Tulum has restored over 90 percent of its tourism and commercial activities within 24 hours of the storm.

The coordinated efforts of local, state, and federal governments, along with the business sector and the general public, have enabled this rapid return to normalcy.

It is noteworthy that Tulum has received this accolade for the sixth time, thanks to the preference of both national and international travelers who enjoy memorable experiences that evoke positive emotions from the Caribbean Sea to the Mayan jungle.

"This award is a recognition of the men and women whose sense of hospitality has helped establish Tulum as the paradise of the Mexican Caribbean," said Diego Castañón Trejo, the municipal president of Tulum.
