Tulum's Season Fills In: The Winter Dates Confirmed Since August

A month ago the winter had two dates on it. Day Zero was fixed for 9 January and Zamna was known to open on New Year's Eve, and everything else in Tulum's season was a name and the word expected. Since then the calendar has started to fill in, and the version below is the one to plan against as of 18 September: what is dated, what is priced, and what is still to come.

This is an update to the guide we published on 17 August, which set out why the weeks around the turn of the year matter more to Tulum than any other stretch of the calendar. That argument has not changed. What has changed is that the season now has a shape you can book, and the first international flights of the winter, dated separately this week, land on 25 October.

Zamna: ten nights, and the first two names

On 17 September Zamna confirmed its tenth anniversary season in Tulum as a ten day run from 31 December 2026 to 10 January 2027 at its jungle site outside the hotel zone. Two nights are already public with artists attached. Anyma brings his ÆDEN production on Monday 4 January, and Adam Port, one of the four members of Keinemusik, closes the run on Sunday 10 January, with tickets from 160 dollars. The Multipass, which converts into three nights of the buyer's choosing once the full programme is out, is on sale from 375 dollars, and Zamna released a second tier of it with the season announcement.

The rest of the ten nights are still to be named. In recent seasons the biggest of them, Keinemusik as a trio, Afterlife, Black Coffee, have been announced through late September and October and have sold out within weeks, so the pattern to expect is a run of announcements over the next six weeks rather than one drop.

There is also, for the first time, an official hotel. On 12 September Zamna and the UMusic Hotel and Beach Club, which opens in the first week of December, announced a partnership in which hotel guests get access to the VIP areas at Zamna nights and Zamna keeps a dedicated presence at the hotel. No room block, rate or package has been published yet; what exists is the arrangement, and the hotel is the subject of its own piece this week.

The rest of January, dated

Day Zero holds its date. Damian Lazarus's thirteenth edition, titled Begin Again, is on Saturday 9 January in the jungle outside town, with the full line up out since August, some thirty artists across three stages led by Lazarus with &ME, Vintage Culture, Tiga, LP Giobbi, Chloé Caillet, Victor Calderone, Jane Fitz and Culoe De Song, and one guest still unannounced. General tickets are on sale.

Tehmplo, the January series in its own jungle venue, has its first date: Solomun on Thursday 7 January 2027, the only name announced there so far, with general admission listed at 2,350 pesos. That puts the second week of January in this order: Solomun on the 7th, Day Zero on the 9th, Adam Port closing Zamna on the 10th, with the Zamna nights of the 5th through the 9th still to be filled.

Before December, and after January

The season does not start on New Year's Eve. Hanal Pixán, the Maya observance of the Day of the Dead, runs 31 October to 2 November, three days rather than the two of central Mexico: the first for children, the second for adults, the third for all the dead. In Tulum it is kept in the plaza, the cemetery and the town's kitchens, where pib is buried and cooked in earth ovens for the altars. The municipality has staged a Janal Pixán festival in recent years; the 2026 programme has not been published as of this writing.

Art With Me, the art, music and wellness gathering that has occupied late November and early December in recent editions, is expected in the same window this year and has not yet announced dates. The UMusic Hotel opens in the first week of December. And at the far end of the season, the spring equinox falls on 20 March 2027, when the sun's alignment on El Castillo at the ruins draws the year's largest dawn crowd to the archaeological zone.

What is not on this list is as telling as what is. Keinemusik as a trio, Afterlife and Mayan Warrior are expected back and have announced nothing. NASCAR's Tulum 100, which put a race oval inside the airport in April and drew 22,783 people by the organiser's count, has no 2027 date. And May to October remains empty, which is the gap the town's year round ambitions are aimed at and the reason a music hotel with studios is being built rather than another beach club.

How to read it

The pattern in Tulum's winter is that the anchors are fixed early and the filling arrives late. The anchors this year are 25 October for the first flights, 31 October for Hanal Pixán, the first week of December for the hotel, 31 December for Zamna, 7 January for Solomun, 9 January for Day Zero, 10 January for Adam Port, 20 March for the equinox. Everything else will be announced between now and the end of October, and the nights that matter most will sell out before their posters are dry. Anyone planning to be here for the turn of the year, in a hotel or in a home of their own, does well to book the flight against the dates above and let the line ups catch up.
