What you get for the money

The interior is fifty square metres. The private terrace above it is another fifty, with a jacuzzi, which means half of what you own here is outside and looking at the water. Total area is 100 square metres.

It is the only studio at penthouse level and it costs barely more than a one bedroom on the floor below. If the terrace matters more to you than a separate bedroom, this is the best value in the building.

Blue Water

Blue Water is thirty three apartments four hundred metres from the Bacalar lagoon, built by Latin Caribe Developments. Buying it

Payment runs in two instalments: a security guarantee on signing the contract and the balance on signing the final deed and taking the unit, either 40 then 60 per cent or 60 then 40. The developer prices in pesos and the peso figure is the one the contract runs on. The figure below is the list price rather than the discounted one, so it is the most you would pay.
